The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Kewaunee and other Northeast Wisconsin counties in effect from 3 p.m. Monday through 6 p.m. Tuesday.
A winter weather advisory is also in effect from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday as the weather front moves into the area.
A mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow is expected to develop over much of central, northeast and east central Wisconsin on Monday, then continue at times through Tuesday. Ice accumulations of a quarter to a half inch are possible. Significant travel impacts will be felt across the western Great Lakes region.
The weather service says drivers should plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the evening commute on Monday. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.
