Overnight rain changed to snow around 6 a.m. Wednesday, as predicted in the winter weather advisory issued for much of Northeast Wisconsin, including Kewaunee County, through 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 1.

The heaviest snowfall is expected between 6 a.m. and noon.

According to the National Weather Service:

Snow is expected to increase in coverage and intensity over
central, northeast and east central Wisconsin this morning. The
snow may become heavy at times. Total accumulations of 3 to 5
inches are anticipated southeast of a line from Wausau to Antigo
to Pembine. The snow should taper off by mid-afternoon, but
gusty north to northwest winds will result in patchy blowing and
drifting snow until about sunset.
