Installation of a new bobcat exhibit is underway at Bruemmer Park Zoo in Kewaunee and it’s putting “Baxter” and “Isabella” into a new home that’s nearly double the size of their current space.
The approximate $35,000 cost of the new exhibit, which measures at 48’x24’, is being paid for with donations made directly to the Zoological Society of Kewaunee County and at fundraising events that include, Zoobilee and ZoupArt.
“The support that the Zoological Society of Kewaunee County receives is tremendous and it’s nice to see not only Kewaunee County residents, but visitors from outside of our community invested in our parks, as well,” says Dave Myers, Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation Director.
And, for safety reasons, the lower portion of the zoo is temporarily closed to the public until construction is complete, which is expected to take about two weeks.
